The brand-new iPhone 15 series is lined up. And we understand that you, as a techie, can’t keep calm.
And why not!
The excitement with a tad of restlessness is worth the new launch expected this year.
However, to heighten your excitement further, we have come up with some rumored or leaked info about this promising launch of iPhone 15 and 15 Pro.
Without further ado, let’s dive into it.
The Models
It is expected that Apple will continue its tradition of offering four models. Two out of these will have a display of 6.1 inches display, and the rest will have 6.7 inches.
The 6.1-inch iPhone 15 will be the standard version, then the 6.1-inch iPhone 15 Plus. The rest two versions will be the 6.7-inch iPhone 15 Pro and the 6.7-inch iPhone 15 Pro Max, equipped with the most advanced features of the series.
Apple is expected to add some new features to make this series more versatile.
And to exemplify its versatility, there will be Dynamic Island, as seen on the iPhone 14 Pro versions. The Dynamic Notch is valid on the front panel. This tiny pill-shaped notch can change size depending on the notification.
It is claimed by leakster that the pro models would have LTPO 120Hz screens as it was grace the display of the last year’s iPhone 14 Pro models and the one that preceded it, i.e., the iPhone 13 Pro series. But the non-pros would still have a 60Hz.
Camera
This year Apple may include a 48-megapixel primary camera in the iPhone 15 series, which is already available on the iPhone 14 Pro versions. The front camera may carry its 12-megapixel sensor.
The hot rumor is about Apple adopting a periscope zoom lens for iPhone 15 but only for the pro max version. The periscope lens technology for enhanced zoom capabilities exceeds the capability of the standard telephoto lenses, allowing for 5x or even 10x optical zoom.
Battery
This year Apple may consider using a bigger-size battery to enhance the user experience with extended battery life.
The iPhone 15 series could be equipped with a better power-efficient OLED display driver chip manufactured on a 28nm process. This will allow reduced power consumption that, leads to improved battery life.
Port
The sensational update of this year’s launch is the addition of a USB-C port. This is primarily done to ensure compliance with EU regulations. The USB-C ports will support higher-speed data transfers. This series, like iPhone 14, will continue to feature USB 2.0 lightning speeds giving the Pro models an edge.
However, Apple may restrict third-party USB-C cable support.
Processor
Regarding processing power, Apple plans to use Qualcomm modem chips. The iPhone 15 may flaunt an A16 Bionic SoC in standard models, while the Pro models may use the latest and more efficient 3nm A17 SoC. Though A16 Bionic SoC is a powerful chipset, most users will not feel a difference in both series in terms of performance.
This upgrade will enable lesser energy consumption to provide the same processing power resulting in improved overall battery life.
Design
The designs of the iPhone 15 series are mostly the same. The Pro version will have a more curved bezel than the standard and plus models. The latter will look more like iPhone 14. Also, there will be a titanium frame limited to iPhone 15 Pro models.
In addition, in the Pro models, Apple is adopting solid-state volume and power buttons, replacing mechanical buttons. The lack of moving parts would save the model from getting filled with water, dirt, or debris. The solid-state buttons with haptic feedback could make iPhone 15 a more durable phone that lasts longer.
Price
According to reports, the price may rise this year if Apple adds new features to the iPhone 15.
Release Date
The iPhone 15 models will most likely be released in September 2023 following its traditional September launch timeline.
